Rebeca Rufty, Phd.
Rebeca was born in Guatemala in 1949. She attended elementary and secondary schools in Guatemala and was an exchange student in the United States from 1966-1967 with the American Fields program.
Rebeca received BA in Philosophy from Rutgers University in 1976 and earned MS and PhD degrees from North Carolina State University in Plant Biology in 1979 and 1982, respectively. She became Assistant Professor in 1982 and Full Professor in 1989 at North Carolina State University. Rebeca was appointed as Assistant Dean to the Graduate School at North Carolina State University in 1998 and went through the ranks to become Interim Dean in 2012. Rebeca retired from North Carolina State University in 2015.
